Interview With A Guru (Part 1 of 10)

This article is a part of an ongoing series. Part one is how Tim Beachum and I met. Throughout the series of articles you will learn first hand from one of the most brilliant people that I have ever met. Tim Beachum is going to share some strategies that are going to make a lot of people pretty mad. But before we get into all of that let me start at the beginning.
I like many individuals that I have encountered was looking for a way to find financial freedom. My quest for the brass ring left me nothing but in debt. I was beginning to think that my family and friends were right. I was nothing more than a dreamer.
I had finally come to the conclusion that I was one of those people who were not meant to be rich. After all there was nothing wrong with my life. I was living the American dream – I had a decent job, friends who really cared about me, and most importantly I had my health. A lot of people would kill for my life. Right???
I still enjoyed reading about those individuals who did become successful online. Those who told their rags to riches story about how they made it against all odds. I guess I lived vicariously through them. I ran by a website that drew me in hook line and sinker. The author Tim Beachum seemed to be so sincere – I guess they all do.
I emailed Mr. Tim Beachum and told him that his sales pitch was the best that I have ever heard. However I couldn’t afford his $97 dollar fee. I went on to tell Mr. Tim Beachum that if he truly believed in his product could I pay him after I tried his system. I ended my email with my contact information. I didn’t really expect a reply.
The next day when I got home from work Tim Beachum had left me a message on my answering machine. I was in total shock. I never thought this guy would respond to my email let alone a phone call. After pacing the floor for about an hour practicing my speech I gave Tim Beachum a call. In my mind I had planed every scenario. I was expecting at best for him to give me a discount on his product. I made the phone call that ultimately changed my life.
The first thing out of Tim Beachum’s mouth was, “I truly enjoyed your email. However let me ask you this – why do you want to become an online entrepreneur?”
I simply replied that, “I want to be rich!” Tim responded, “It will never happen.” There was a few seconds of silence that seemed like days. Then Tim broke the silence by saying, “My friend you should never do anything for money – you should live life with passion. Do what you love to do then the money will come.”
Out of emotion I responded with, “Mr. Beachum, I am going to be an Internet Marketer. I just thought that you would give me a break, that’s all.”
Tim responded, “Larry do you have any idea how many people email me each week telling me that they want to become a successful Internet Marketer. Do you know how many of them actually do? None of them! Let me tell you why my friend – they all want it to happen overnight. If you promise me that you will stick to it I will walk you through it step-by-step. Now Larry I don’t want you to answer me now – take one-week to think about all of the positive and negative aspects of being successful. Ask yourself how passionate are you really about being an online entrepreneur. Seven days Larry. I will give you a call back on the seventh day for your answer. Now keep in mind that it is a lot of hard work when you first get started - a lot of sleepless nights. Success doesn’t come without sacrifice. Are we on the same page Larry?”
I responded with a, “Yes sir Mr. Beachum.” This was the happiest day of my life. I already knew that I didn’t need the seven days to think about it.
Tim stopped me in the middle of my gratitude speech by saying, “Larry…”
I responded, “Yes sir!”
Tim Said, “Please stop calling me Sir, and Mr. Beachum, Tim will work fine.” He then said, “I’ll talk to you in seven days my friend.”
Tim hung up without uttering another word. Just as he had promised he called me on the seventh day. And this is when the lessons began. Tim told me to record the phone calls because there was no way that I was going to remember everything that he was going to cover. We talked once a week for a couple of hours for a month. I am going to share the entire interview with you through nine series of articles.
